HV-Skola Klässbol Skansenbutiken

Collaboration with HV-Skola and Skansenbutiken

In May, Skansenbutiken presents a new collection of linen towels, designed by students who are in their final year at the Higher Textile Handicraft Training. The collaboration with Klässbols is the second in a row and they have created four new pattern images and woven the first technical samples by hand. Once again, the students have explored expression in the loom, experimented with bindings and produced a unique design where form and function are in focus. Together with the textile designers of the future, Klässbols has annually explored new synergies between craft heritage and contemporary times.
This year, the world's first open-air museum, Skansen, has also been invited to participate in the collaboration, and the motifs have been found in Skansen's environment as a starting point.

Some voices in the project:

- As a student, it has been a fantastic opportunity to design a towel that is woven on a quality weaving mill like Klässbols. Then seeing the towels in Skansenbutiken's range feels honorable and fun, says one of the design students at HV School.

- Carrying on a traditional craft and material means not standing still, but developing together with, among other things, the curious students at Handarbetets Vänner and HV School, says Dick Johansson, marketing director at Klässbols Linneväveri.

- There are many parameters that must be right for a design to become a finished product. For us, it has been fun to be able to send the students the knowledge we possess about what a work process can look like. And then seeing how accurately they interpreted Skansen as both a bearer of a cultural heritage and an actor in the nature and environmental issues of the future has been very fun, says Anna Bodén, unit manager of shops and markets at Skansen.

The HV x Klässbol x Skansen collection will be launched on May 1, 2021 and sold exclusively in Skansenbutiken and at skansenbutiken.se

Klässbols in collaboration with HV School and Designtorget

Handarbetets Vänner school Designtorget Klässbols Linneväveri collaboration linen towels

For the third year in a row, textile students from the long-standing textile craft school Handarbetets Vänner Skola are tasked with producing products for Designtorget. New for this year is that Klässbol's Linneväveri is a cooperation partner. The work consists of 11 new pattern images produced at the weaving mill in Klässbol and launched at Designtorget in a limited edition of 20 exclusive copies of each towel.

For more than 130 years, HV Skola at Djurgården in Stockholm has been training future artisans in textile craft techniques. Together with Designtorget, Handarbetets Vänner protects products that last year after year. For eight weeks, design students in the project "Collection in small-scale production" have challenged traditional methods and textile materials. Based on Designtorget's range, the students have developed their own design. - We see working with Sweden's leading textile and design schools as exciting, positive and challenging. An important strategy for finding future clients and customers. Doing it together with Designtorget makes it even more perfect! Says Andreas Johansson, CEO
