Astri Taube

Astri sjösala linen napkin is designed by Astri Bergman-Taube.
Linnéa Matilda Taube (née Bergman) was born in 1898 and grew up in Stockholm as the eldest of four siblings. Her father ran his own art foundry and exhibition hall. She therefore came into contact with many of the artists of the time at an early age.
After the French School, she attended the Technical School, Sigrid Blomberg's sculpture school and Caleb and Carl Wilhelmson's painting schools. Astri was married to the poet and artist Evert Taube and became the mother of architect Per-Evert, Rosemarie, Ellinor and Sven-Bertil Taube . Astri worked primarily as a painter, graphic artist and sculptor. She died in 1980 in Maria Magdalena parish in Stockholm.
