Jacobs' approach reduces and strips down as a way to help clarify his own story.

These are things that either exist in reality or objects that themselves model on reality. The difference between abstraction and substance, between foreground and background, between illusionary and real space.

Through these suspended and ambiguous objects, I create a sense of uncertainty about the existence of the work and its boundaries, and open up new possibilities for interpretation. A quest for what is completely established. An approach where the emphasis lies in the composition; between objects, materials, space and people.
