Lena Hellström is interested in the challenge of being human, aspects of space, time and complexity, with a particular interest in gender issues. Influences from common folk tradition, folklore, the Arts & Crafts Movement, Feng Shui and Wabi-Sabi. Her field of vision is global, but her feet are in the Nordic crowd. She wants to form an innovative and mediating shaping link, where traditional knowledge forms a base while influences from different cultures provide nourishment and energy in a constantly ongoing process of change. She works artistically with many materials and mixes freely (including painting, textiles, photography, graphics).

As a designer (graphic form, furniture, interior design, textile), Lena Hellström wants to contribute with functional, timeless and long-term sustainable things with a clear identity. Simplicity and natural materials, knowledge and sensibility are important keywords. - "With nature as a prerequisite, tradition as a basis and man as a measure". She designs and sells her own furniture, textiles and interior design under the name Himlajorden Form.
