In connection with Arvika 's 100th anniversary, Arvika municipality together with Klässbol's linen weaving company is launching a new collection by local designer Hanna Smedberg-Haglund this year. The collection consists of a runner and a towel in four different colours, one of which is exclusively produced for Arvika municipality. The pattern is inspired by Arvika 's town plan à la 1811 with the characteristic grid system, the square blocks, the straight streets and the right-angled street corners. At that time, it was easy and cheap to lay out the town - only 2,666 riksdaler and 32 shillings - because "the land was barely arable, there were only four low huts". 96 lots were cut off and streets and squares could be planned according to the desired grid system. So when you get off the train at the railway station in Arvika and step out onto the square, you step straight into Hanna Smedberg's runners. "I was very happy when Hans Stahl from Klässbols called and asked if I could design the pattern. To be able to work together with Klässbols and especially to do something for Arvika , it really feels great." - Hanna Smedberg-Haglund
