The Nobel napkins are part of " Nobel a magnificent tableware " and the design was distinguished by the design award Excellent Swedish Form in 1992. The Nobel tableware was produced especially for the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Foundation and the Nobel Prize in 1991. It was inaugurated by Their Majesties the King and Queen during the magnificent banquet in Blå Hallen, the city hall in Stockholm.
The Nobel cloth and napkins are woven by us, Klässbols Linneväveri, using traditional techniques with modern design. The woven grid pattern becomes visible because the light is reflected differently from the warp and weft surfaces. The white napkins in size 70×70 cm are woven in damask with a thinner linen yarn that nicely highlights the Nobel emblem in one of the corners of the napkin. The Nobel range has also been supplemented with a satin napkin in size 50×50 cm, in the colors sand and white.
